‘Leaders are not born but made’, this famous proverb describes the aspiration of S.S.P.M. Day School and Junior College towards developing leadership quality in students. As a part of its endeavor, Investiture Ceremony was organized on 23rd June, 2017. On this occasion newly elected and selected office – bearers of the Student Council were formally vested with power and position for the academic year 2017-2018.
The program started with the singing of the school song. The gathering was then addressed by Hon. Supervisor Mrs. Rao, who briefed the new Student Council about their duties and responsibilities. After her motivating speech the programme proceeded further with the pining up of badges. The Chief Guest for Hon. Principal, Supervisor and House Masters handed over the badges to the Head Boy, Head Girl, Prefects, Vice-Prefects and Activity Prefects who were eagerly waiting to take up their duties. This was followed by oath taking ceremony of the Student Council. The Head Girl, Ms. Shivani Gawade, lead the oath taking ceremony followed by the new Student Council who took the pledge of just decisions, good management skills and impartiality while discharging their duties.
The Head Boy, Master. Krushna Nagarkar, on behalf of the new Student Council expressed his gratitude for the honour bestowed upon them and pledged to discharge their duties sincerely. The gathering was then addressed by Hon Principal, Ms. Shivali Jagtap, who narrated a story on the importance of discharging the duties sincerely. The Head Boy, head Girl and School Prefect released the balloons representing different House colours for Shahaji, Shivaji, Sambhaji and Rajaram House hoping that each house takes effort to touch the sky of success. It was an inspiring, motivating experience for the students of Std. V to XII who witnessed this grand occasion with joy and fervour. The function concluded with the vote of thanks and national anthem.
