The June Solstice is an astronomical event celebrated in the Northern Hemisphere. For us in the Northern Hemisphere , this solstice marks the longest day of the year. Early dawns , long days ,late sunsets and short nights. On Friday June 21, the sun brightens our skies longer than on any other day in 2019.

The significance given to the summer solstice has varied among cultures ,but most recognize the event with holidays, festivals and rituals, around that time with themes of religion or fertility.The day coincides with the World Music Day as well as the International Yoga Day.

21st June was observed at S.S.P.M.Day School & Jr. College .Geography Teachers explained the importance of this day to the young  Shivajians with PPT Presentations. Students drew drawings and charts to mark the importance of the day.
