SSPM Day School & Jr.College had Organized “The International Yoga Day” on 21st June 2017.
Students from std 5th to std 10th and sports teachers participated in the celebration enthusiastically. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice attributed mostly to India. The Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in his UN address suggested the date 21st june , as it is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere and shares special significance. The International Day Of Yoga was first proposed by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi during his speech at the UNGA on 27th September, 2014.
The students did various body postures or asanas like Tadasana , Suryanamaskar ,Vrikshasana , Vastrasana ,Padhastana ,Garudasan , Tolasana, Badha padmasana , Paravtasan, Matsyasana, Paschimottasana, Akarna Dhanurasana, Viparit Karni ,Halasan, Shirshasan, etc. The students also made charts of yoga very beautifully as well as the anchoring was done by the students of Std 9th & Std 10th . The participants did excellent and sharp body posture and the asanas. Students took the oath to maintain their bodies fit and to keep smart personalities.
The day ended with great enthusiasum and joy.
