Activity: Observance of Kargil Vijay Divas

SSPM Day School and Junior College observed ‘Kargil Vijay Divas’ on 26th July 2018.It was the day to remember India’s war victory and to pay tribute to Kargil martyrs who are the symbol of courage and sacrifice. They sacrificed their lives while safeguarding the borders of the country.

Teachers guided the students to make informative charts ,banners and flexes of the Kargil heroes which were displayed at the venue. The venue was beautifully decorated by garlands of marigold flowers. Students formed human chain by holding the banners to express their gratitude towards the martyrs of the Kargil war.

The program started with patriotic song, presented by Secondary students and procedded with the welcome of the guest of honour, the members of “Lakshya Foundation”, Mrs. Ashwini Palnitkar and Ms. Anuradha Jagdale. Principal Ms. Shivali Jagtap welcomed the guest by presenting a medicinal plant. Principal, along with the members of Lakashya Foundation paid homage to the kargil martyrs by lighting the candles. All staff members and young shivajians also paid homage to the kargil martyrs. The lighted candles illuminated the venue and made it peaceful.

The speech and the PowerPoint Presentation by the students of Std XII made the event informative and enlightening. It explained the students about the significance of Kargil Vijay Divas and the sacrifices of Kargil heroes, which was also followed by inspirational and emotional videos of the war. Students were literally in tears, after watching the heart touching videos.

The program proceeded with the street play presented by the students of Std XII. The play boosted the morale of the kargil martyrs and created emotional bond between the soldiers and the shivajians.

Students of Std XII and IX also attended the guest lecture presented by the members of Lakshya Foundation wherein they experienced the actual battle scenes.The inspiring and motivational presentation created awareness about the kargil war which was fought between Indai and Pakistan and the value of patriotism was inculcated among the Shivajians!
